I didn't know why my seventh-grade history teacher was so upset the morning of Friday, 1 May 1970. Apparently, Nixon's "incursion" triggered massive protests after taking office with "a plan to end the (American phase of the Vietnamese Civil) war".

Time to plow. Going undercover as a farmer has happened in a few mysteries over the years.

I'm a happy cowboy in spring. It's a possible scene for a story I'm going to write in 2027.

The boys in blue and the boys in grey find that the armed forces don't find glory so easily. Here are two teens experiencing it. Memorial Day was for the Civil War dead and was always 30 May until 1971.

There was no reason to move Memorial Day from 30 May to the last Monday in May. They tried to move Veterans' Day to the last Monday in October, until they were forced to put it back to 11 November. Holidays should not be moved for the convenience of bureaucrats to have three-day weekends. Furthermore, what's wrong with having Friday off instead of Monday?
